For twenty years, we have been at the forefront of the open movement, empowering people, institutions, and systems to share information openly to advance human rights and development goals, equity and access, and innovation. CC has dedicated programs in open education and open culture, and policy. Additionally, we maintain the suite of CC licenses, which enables free and legal sharing worldwide. These tools have unlocked more than 2 billion pieces of content from researchers, artists, teachers, museums and libraries, and powers platforms like Wikipedia. In partnership with our global community, CC takes comprehensive action across four key components: policy, infrastructure, capacity-building and training, and community engagement. More people are sharing content than ever before, and the world is rapidly changing. CC hopes to continue fulfilling the promise of the Internet, build ways to share and collaborate together to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Creative Commons (CC) stewards a universally accessible infrastructure for open knowledge, culture, and collaboration.
